Job Summary:

 

The Deputy Head of School Counseling Office will be responsible for assisting the Head of UCC in leading and managing the school counseling program, including supervising and supporting school counselors, developing and implementing counseling policies and procedures, and collaborating with teachers, administrators, and parents to support students' academic, career, and social-emotional development.

Additionally, the Deputy Head of School Counseling Office will organize school-wide counseling-related activities, such as college/career fairs, mental health awareness campaigns, and parent education workshops, to promote students' holistic development and well-being.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist the Head of School Counseling Office in leading and managing the school counseling program.
  • Supervise and support school counselors in their professional development and performance.
  • Develop and implement counseling policies and procedures that align with the school's mission and values.
  • Collaborate with teachers and administrators to integrate counseling services into the academic curriculum and school culture.
  • Provide consultation and support to teachers and administrators on student development and well-being.
  • Develop and deliver professional development activities related to school counseling and student development.
  • Facilitate communication and collaboration among school counselors, teachers, administrators, and parents.
  • Organize school-wide counseling-related activities, such as college/ career fairs, mental health awareness campaigns, and parent education workshops, to promote students' holistic development and well-being.
  • Stay current with counseling trends, research, and best practices.
  • Participate in school-wide leadership teams and committees related to student development and well-being.

Desired Skills:

  • Experience working with students and teachers from diverse cultural backgrounds
  • Proficiency in using student information systems and college application platforms

Education and Experience:

  • Master's degree in school counseling or a related field from an accredited institution.
  • At least five years of experience in school counseling or a related field.
  • At least two years of experience in a leadership or supervisory role in school counseling.
  • Experience organizing school-wide counseling-related activities.
  • Experience working in an international school setting preferred.
