Amidst “Blossoms of autumn – radiance of the moon”, Olympia celebrates a season of togetherness

04 October, 2025

Another full moon has passed, leaving the Olympia community with joy-filled hearts and warm lingering memories. This year’s Mid-Autumn Festival was not only a moment of reunion, but also a journey for students to appreciate what they have and to share love with those around them.

From the vibrant beats of the lion dance, to little hands joyfully making mooncakes and playing traditional games, and to the cultural booths exploring Mid-Autumn traditions from Korea, China, and Japan – Olympia students celebrated with fun, learning, and a broadened global perspective.

Yet, Olympia’s Mid-Autumn was never just about joy for ourselves. Students learned to send their love to children in difficult circumstances through carefully prepared gifts, to set aside their own mooncake portions to share with other kids in their neighborhood, or to offer them to service staff working quietly around them. Teachers and students also took a solemn pause to honor the soldiers at the borders, who silently safeguard peace so that the children can enjoy the full moon in safety.

With the theme “Blossoms of autumn – Radiance of the moon”, the festival became a vivid painting: glowing with tradition, illuminated by reunion, and reaching out to the world with compassion and empathy.

The moon has risen, the blossoms have bloomed – and Olympia’s love will continue to spread, reaching beyond classroom walls to touch even more hearts.
