11TH-GRADE OLYMPIANS EXPERIENCED LIFE AND CULTURE IN BINH DINH WITH THE "TRANSFORMATIONALS CHOICES" PROJECT

Binh Dinh - a land steeped in history and culture - became the destination for 11th-grade Olympians in their journey of "Transformational Choices" - an interdisciplinary project of Literature, History, Music, and Fine Arts. Through allowing students to directly experience and explore the traditional and modern values of a region, the project aims to stimulate multifaceted thoughts and perspectives on the "transformation" of cultures in the context of strong interaction between modernity and tradition.

During their 3-day stay in Quy Nhon, the Olympians explored the "land of martial arts and literarature " through various famous landmarks such as Binh Dinh Museum, Traditional Art Theater, Làng Sông Cathedral, Ghềnh Ráng tourist area, Phong Village, Đồ Bàn Citadel, Quy Nhon Science Center, and more. The knowledge gained about the New Poetry Movement during the period of 1932-1945, various literary genres, reportage, essays in Literature; the understanding of nationalist movements, including the Tây Sơn uprising in History; and the achievements in music and fine arts during the period of 1930-1945... greatly aided the Olympians in delving deeper into the history, culture, and people of Binh Dinh.

Not only did they "enrich" their knowledge, but the educational journey in Quy Nhon - Binh Dinh also provided an opportunity for students to further develop many skills: teamwork, creative thinking, and awareness of preserving the national cultural identity. Throughout the trip, Olympians were divided into 9 activity groups. They proactively connected with tour guides and locals to gather information to complete essays and travel journals about the project.

Carrying the knowledge, emotions, and experiences from the "land of martial arts and literature" of Binh Dinh, the Olympians returned to Hanoi eagerly preparing for the next product of the project - the musical drama "Dream River". The performance, which focuses on the influence of Western culture, the art of the period 1932-1945, and the choices people face in this era, will take place at the Olympia Theater on April 12th.
