Econext workshop series “For the planet” for grades 5 & 6: when small steps create big change
13 January, 2026
Continuing the EcoNext: Go Green, Go Future spirit from our High School Olympians, students in Grades 5 & 6 spent an afternoon stepping into a “green mindset” journey through a series of inspiring and hands-on activities. The session began with the talk show “How is waste pollution affecting our planet and human life?” led by a guest speaker from VN5C. Students gained a clearer understanding of the waste crisis, from its silent impact on the environment to its direct influence on the daily routines of every household.

As the program moved into the creative workshop, the atmosphere became even more exciting. Our young Olympians turned everyday discarded materials into meaningful artworks carrying environmental messages. Grade 5 students used newspapers and cardboard to craft collage pieces about a “Green Planet,” while Grade 6 students upcycled denim from old clothing to design posters and symbols promoting eco-friendly habits in daily life. With creativity, observation, and a strong sense of responsibility, students produced an impressive collection that reflects their individuality - proving that “waste can absolutely become art when we look at it through a different lens.”

These small activities are powerful first steps toward helping the younger generation realize: Everyone can make the Earth a better place, even our youngest Olympians.
