Heritage festival 2026: Grade 10 tells the story of tradition in today's way
24 April, 2026
After a two-month interdisciplinary project in Literature and History titled “Inheriting and Spreading Heritage”, Grade 10 Olympians brought their “fruits of learning” to the Heritage Festival Showcase to share with parents and teachers. Here, heritage was reimagined through students’ creativity, active engagement, and hands-on learning, creating many memorable moments for the audience. At the showcase, visitors could trace the Olympians’ journey of exploring heritage - from specialized classroom sessions to field trips in Bắc Ninh. Knowledge of quan họ singing, Đông Hồ painting, and chèo theatre became materials for stage productions, bringing heritage off the page and alive on the Olympia theatre stage.

Transforming into graceful liền anh and liền chị, Grade 10 Olympians performed sweet quan họ melodies interwoven with folk songs from across Vietnam and classic songs refreshed with contemporary music. Cheo excerpts such as Thị Màu lên chùa, Mẹ Đốp - Xã trưởng from Quan Âm Thị Kính were also carefully recreated, from acting to costumes. Each performance not only brought the vibrant atmosphere of folk art but also reflected the students’ serious research and creative process.

Beyond the stage, the showcase expanded into a cultural experience space with traditional games, Đông Hồ printmaking, mask painting, and a traditional food area. Each activity contributed to a lively Heritage Festival where participants could not only watch but also touch, taste, and truly “live” the values of the past.

The Heritage Festival showcase was not only the conclusion of the learning project but also a testament to active, interdisciplinary, and experiential learning. From research and hands-on exploration to creative production and performance, Grade 10 Olympians became true inheritors and ambassadors of traditional heritage, expressing it in their own generation’s voice - echoing the MC’s words: “Heritage only truly lives when cherished and continued by the younger generation.”
