Middle school students achieve high awards at Stemco International Math and Science Olympics

Out of 49 participating students, 44 from Middle School Olympia received awards at the StemCo International Math and Science Competitions 2023. The impressive results include 16 Gold, 16 Silver, and 16 Bronze medals, along with 2 Special Awards and 7 Certificates of Recognition. This outstanding performance is a pride for the Middle School Olympia team at the international competition held annually since 2014. The event attracts thousands of participants from various countries, with competitions taking place in 39 countries and territories, including Singapore, Canada, Russia, Japan, South Korea, Mexico, Turkey, Ukraine, and more.

In the second year participating at the StemCo, Olympians showcased their talents of their students and were a strong testament to the outstanding quality of education. The 49 participants, ranging from grades 5 to 8, competed in five fields: Mathematics, Science, Physics, Chemistry, and Biology. Some students even participated in 2-3 subjects simultaneously. To achieve such impressive results, students were supported by Olympia teachers in the Science Department. Teachers created a question bank for students to review, and organized in-person review sessions for students over one month. With this substantial support and encouragement, Olympians confidently entered the international stage and gave their best.
