Olympians bring humanities knowledge to the "Stage of Ideas" at Humanities Showcase

16 April, 2026

Humanities Showcase is not only a platform to celebrate outstanding student work, but also a bridge connecting the school, students, and families – coming together to recognize achievements in the field of Social Sciences and Humanities. At the same time, the event inspires students to continue nurturing their curiosity and creativity in their future learning journeys. The last days of the school year, the Olympia Theater transformed into a vibrant space of knowledge and creativity, where Olympians from Grades 9 to 12 showcased their outstanding academic work as part of Humanities Showcase 25.26. The event offered students an opportunity to reflect on their year-long learning journey while confidently sharing their achievements with teachers, peers, and parents.

A highlight of the event was the Humanities Documentary Project, where each Olympian stepped into the role of a filmmaker, telling stories about the world through their own unique lens. Centered around continents of study such as Asia, Africa, and Europe, students independently conducted research, developed scripts, designed visual concepts, and produced their own documentary films.

More than just an academic assignment, the project represents a comprehensive learning journey. Students developed critical thinking, research, analysis, and synthesis skills, while also strengthening their ability to communicate through visual storytelling. Each film became a “slice of the world” – from cultural explorations like Pho Thin and Hanoi Beer Culture, to historical reflections such as Rwandan Genocide 1994, and contemporary social issues like Online Grooming on Roblox and The Hidden Cost Behind European Fashion.

The diversity of topics and perspectives created a rich and immersive experience for the audience – spanning distant cultures, familiar local stories, historical narratives, and present-day global issues. Through their work, Olympians demonstrated not only academic understanding but also the ability to connect knowledge with real-world contexts and share meaningful, human-centered stories.

As a school year gradually comes to a close, the journey of learning and discovery continues – as each Olympian keeps questioning, exploring the world, and telling their own stories, from the classroom to broader horizons.
