TOSMUN 2026: Grade 10 Olympians debate the new world order
04 April, 2026
TOSMUN’26, under the theme “Ascendancy of Aurora - A New Dawn,” has officially opened, marking a moment of transition into a new era, as the global order is reshaped by shifts in technology, security, conflict, and power.

As an annual learning activity in Grade 10 English, TOSMUN helps Olympians enhance their language proficiency while developing critical thinking, negotiation, teamwork, and problem-solving skills. Stepping into the roles of national delegates in a Model United Nations setting, students research and deliberate on macro-level issues, broadening their worldview and cultivating a global mindset.

Debates at TOSMUN’26 spanned multiple fields but shared a common focus: how humanity responds to major global transformations. The United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) explored artificial intelligence in education, where opportunities for personalization are accompanied by concerns about inequality and ethics. The Disarmament and International Security Committee (DISEC) extended the discussion by placing AI in the context of warfare, where technology may not only support but also replace humans, blurring lines of accountability. The conversation then moved onto the “pitch,” where the Fédération Internationale de Football Association (FIFA) examined the layers of power behind the perceived fairness of global football. Meanwhile, the League of Arab States (ARAB) addressed ideological divisions among member states, where each decision shapes not only political choices but also the future of an entire region.

As TOSMUN’26 comes to a close, many questions surrounding the evolving global order have found potential solutions, while others continue to inspire reflection among these talented delegates. The conference season may end, but the spirit of critical debate, global thinking, and creative problem-solving will continue to accompany Grade 10 Olympians on their journey ahead.
