Grade 2 Olympians explored the colors of Vietnamese heritage at the Vietnam Museum of Ethnology

09 February, 2026

“How can each of us become a guardian of the Vietnamese spirit?”
Inspired by this question, the interdisciplinary project “The Colors of Vietnam in Me” - integrating Vietnamese, Art, Music, and LiFE - was designed for Grade 2 Olympians. More than classroom lessons, the project opens up a journey of discovery where students observe, listen, and experience Vietnamese culture with genuine curiosity and excitement.

A meaningful highlight of this journey was a field trip to the Vietnam Museum of Ethnology. Curious eyes, innocent questions, and radiant smiles showed how vividly “Vietnamese colors” came to life through each experience. Inside the exhibition halls, students eagerly explored vibrant traditional costumes, folk musical instruments, and everyday objects from different communities. Each artifact told a story, helping them better imagine the lives of ethnic groups across the country. Their project notebooks gradually got filled with fresh insights and newly discovered treasures.

Stepping into the traditional houses of the Kinh, Cham, Ede, and other ethnic groups, Olympians observed architectural styles, building materials, and daily living arrangements to gain a deeper understanding of each community’s culture and way of life. Beyond observing and listening, students immersed themselves in folk activities such as trống quân singing and bamboo dancing. The lively rhythms, coordinated steps, and enthusiastic participation made the experience joyful and memorable.

Though the trip came to an end, its echoes remain – in detailed notes, proud eyes, and a growing love for their homeland. It also serves as meaningful preparation for Grade 2 Olympians to continue the project “The Colors of Vietnam in Me” - nurturing their love for Vietnam in a way that is both heartfelt and sincere.
Olympia – Nurturing Vietnamese identity, cultivating global competence.
