7 US Universites offered admissions and scholarships to Olympian Le Cong Duy

13 April, 2024

Olympian Le Cong Duy (grade 12) has just received acceptance letters with scholarships from several prestigious universities in the United States. Notably, these include: Rutgers University, ranked #40 in the US, according to USNews 2024; Purdue University, ranked #40; DePauw University with a scholarship of $172,000; Drexel University, with a scholarship of $140,000...

Choosing to study Finance and Business, Le Cong Duy shared that he was inspired by the teachings of Mr. Hai Linh and Ms. Thanh Xuan in Economics & Law. There, students learn about economics and finance through many classic business stories and solve real business problems through projects.

"This is a major reason that helped me confidently establish business clubs in school, participate in many competitions, and decide to pursue a future in Finance - Business. It satisfies my passion and allows me to use my knowledge to contribute useful value to society," Le Cong Duy shared.

As a founding member and operator of the DECA club for Olympia high school students, Cong Duy and his friends have organized many interesting business activities, bringing profits to support the costs for members participating in competitions. As the founder of the "Avocado Together" charity project, he has also helped people in disadvantaged areas of Moc Chau to achieve better profits from long-term and stable sales of avocado in Hanoi. And those contributions, along with many awards from DECA club members, are the pride and happy memories of this senior before graduation.

"Cong Duy stands out in many ways, with the ability to adapt well to different circumstances. He is polite, eager to learn, always cheerful towards positive things. His efforts, diligence, commitment to studies, and abilities have helped Cong Duy progress day by day, achieving many academic achievements," said Ms. Nguyen Thi Chinh - high school mathematics teacher. She is also the person whom Cong Duy considers to have the "greatest influence on his high school years," igniting his passion for learning, instilling a love for Mathematics, and helping him become a more disciplined, hardworking student, eager to understand the essence of problems instead of memorizing, and "for the first time enjoying sitting at the front desk in class"...

And thanks to interesting, understandable, and inspiring lectures along with the meticulous care of teachers, Cong Duy - from a student struggling to follow the Vietnamese curriculum after 3 years of studying in Canada - has made remarkable progresses in his studies, demonstrating a strong talent in Mathematics, Economics, Fine Arts, and Sports.

"I studied at Olympia from grade 2 to grade 6 and then relocated to Canada with my mother. In Grade 9, I returned to Vietnam. Despite receiving a scholarship from an international school, I still decided to return to the Purple School. For me, Olympia is home; it's where I have all my close friends, happy memories, and inspiring teachers, as well as dedicated and professional staff, always ready to help and provide the best development environment for us," shared the Olympian.
