Do Quang Minh and his dream of becoming an aerospace engineer

12 June, 2024

Having been accepted and received a scholarship from the University of New South Wales - Top 4 university in Australia, Top 19 university in the world (according to QSnews), Do Quang Minh grade 12 is still waiting for an email notification from INSA de Lyon - the leading engineering university in France. After June 20th, the most prestigious school in the Grande École system, which includes prestigious French universities with high quality training and strict selection criteria, will announce the admission results for Olympian.

"If I am accepted to both schools, I will choose to study at INSA de Lyon because the field I want to pursue, Aerospace Engineering, is particularly well-developed in France. I would also like to have new experiences in a European country that few friends or seniors have chosen to study in; I want to do something different, interesting, and truly in line with my passion," Olympian Quang Minh shared.

Choosing his "own path" quite early on, Quang Minh's path to discovering his passion for researching and repairing aircraft has surprised many; it was through playing games. Olympian said that when he was in junior high school, playing a game about airplanes, he realized that many factors are needed to build and operate these giant machines that fly in the sky, especially the sophistication and ingenuity of human engineering. Captivated by these interesting things, and the more he learned to play the game better, Quang Minh became more passionate about researching and repairing this special type of vehicle. Determined to pursue a degree in Aerospace Engineering, Olympian hopes to one day contribute to creating unique airplanes that will better serve human life.

Attending Olympia since 6th grade, Do Quang Minh said that this is his "second home", a place filled with happy and bittersweet memories, a place that has given him many valuable experiences and lessons. "All of that has made me more mature, more independent, more empathetic, more loving, and more confident to step out into the ever-changing world," Olympian shared.

Congratulations to Quang Minh on hopefully receiving more good news from INSA de Lyon soon and may his dreams come true!
