Nurturing the dream of becoming a distinguished investor, Nguyen Tien Duc Duy will study finance at the university of New South Wales

Drawn by the way money flows and the impact that decisions from large corporations have on the stock market, Nguyen Tien Duc Duy, a young man known for "not shying away from responsibility and challenges," has decided to pursue a degree in Finance at the University of New South Wales. Ranked 19th in the world (according to QS World University Rankings 2024) and the No.1 university in Australia for startups, UNSW is highly regarded for its specialized training in Finance and Economics. The university has awarded Duy a scholarship of AUD 26,000 to support his dream of becoming an outstanding investor.
In addition to the University of New South Wales, Nguyen Tien Duc Duy also received a scholarship of AUD 30,000 from Macquarie University, ranked 14th in Australia.
Since joining Olympia in grade 10, this finance enthusiast has showcased his talent with numbers. He won second place in HAC Math Olympiad (2022) and has been recognized as an outstanding student in Mathematics and an excellent student for the 2023-2024 academic year. In Economics and Law classes, Duy also demonstrated enthusiasm and sharp thinking when working on business plans and financial report analyses assigned by his teachers.
"The interesting lessons and projects in this subject have helped me nurture my passion for Finance. I have not only equipped myself with solid professional knowledge in this field but also developed important soft skills such as analytical thinking, teamwork, and creative problem-solving," Duy shared.
With a confident, energetic, courteous, and proactive personality, Nguyen Tien Duc Duy was trusted by his peers and teachers to take on responsibilities within the Grade Management Team for the 2023-2024 school year. Through organizing major events like the Vietnamese Teachers' Day Celebration on November 20th and the year-end musical "Realm of Memories" with the BOD, this Olympian has gained many foundational skills that he believes will be "extremely useful for my goal of becoming a talented investor."
Grateful for the rich experiential learning environment that Olympia provided, where he could freely explore the world, absorb valuable lessons, and gain deeper self-awareness, Nguyen Tien Duc Duy will carry the solid knowledge and beautiful memories from Olympia with him as he confidently steps into the "open seas," ready to conquer new heights on his developmental journey.
