Pham Thanh Nam will become a creative design student at RMIT University Vietnam

Passionate about the virtual worlds in video games since childhood, Pham Thanh Nam has unknowingly kindled a dream of experiencing game worlds with characters, settings, and scenarios designed by himself. Carrying this dream and a realistic vision of the present and the strong future development of the gaming industry, Pham Thanh Nam (Class of 12) decided to pursue Creative Design to turn his passion into a source of income while expressing his unique personality.

“I have been accepted to RMIT University Vietnam and am applying for a Creative Scholarship covering 50% of the tuition fees,” the Olympian shared. He believes that this international institution, with its strengths in graphic design and overall design training, will be a solid launchpad to help him realize his dreams.

During his time at Olympia, Pham Thanh Nam had numerous opportunities to use his passion and design skills to create unique posters and slides for study projects. Among them, he is most proud of the geography comic book that his group made in 11th grade as part of a high-scoring project for this subject.

“Thanh Nam’s group's product was highly praised by the teacher and classmates for its engaging and creative story content and illustrations. Nam always shows his strong passion for drawing through his academic projects. He is eager to learn, responsible, somewhat reserved but thoughtful, and persistent in achieving his goals,” shared Ms. Nguyen Thi Trinh, a high school geography teacher at Olympia.

Looking back on his three years at Olympia, Pham Thanh Nam describes it as a “brilliant youth.” Because “At this purple school, my friends and I had many opportunities to shine and be useful through our strengths instead of being imposed upon and judged by narrow standards. I also got to experience many new activities to grow, understand, and become a better version of myself,” the Olympian confided.
This September, Pham Thanh Nam will officially become a student at RMIT University Vietnam. Wishing you many achievements and happy experiences on your new academic journey!
