School Counselor (Mental Health Focus)

Job Summary:
The School Counselor (Mental Health Focus) will be responsible for providing comprehensive mental health counseling services to students, including individual and group counseling, crisis intervention, and consultation. The counselor will also provide career counseling services to students, including individual and group counseling, career assessments, and classroom guidance lessons. The counselor will collaborate with teachers, administrators, and parents to support students' mental health and career development. Additionally, the counselor will organize mental health-related activities, such as workshops, support groups, and awareness campaigns, to promote students' mental health and well-being.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide individual and group counseling to students to help them manage emotional and social challenges, develop coping skills, and improve their mental health.
- Provide crisis intervention and support to students and families in times of emergency or trauma.
- Collaborate with teachers and administrators to identify and address students' mental health needs.
- Administer and interpret career assessments to help students identify their interests, strengths, and values related to career development.
- Provide individual and group counseling to students to help them explore career options, develop career plans, and make informed decisions about their future.
- Develop and deliver classroom guidance lessons on career exploration, job search strategies, and career readiness skills.
- Organize mental health-related activities, such as workshops, support groups, and awareness campaigns, to promote students' mental health and well-being.
- Maintain accurate and confidential student records related to mental health counseling and career counseling services.
- Stay current with mental health trends, resources, and technology.
- Stay current with career development trends, resources, and technology.
- Participate in professional development activities related to mental health counseling and career counseling.
Desired Skills:
- Experience working with students and teachers from diverse cultural backgrounds
- Proficiency in using student information systems and college application platforms
Education and Experience:
- Master's degree in school counseling or a related field from an accredited institution.
- At least three years of experience in mental health counseling or a related field.
- At least two years of experience in career counseling or a related field.
- Experience organizing mental health-related activities.
- Experience working in an international school setting preferred.
