When elementary school Olympians become "Little artists on the big stage"

On April 20th, Olympia Theater has transformed into a vibrant stage for "little artists" from grades 1, 2, and 3 with the showcase "Little Artists on the Big Stage." Transformed into foxes, rabbits, turtles, the Jade Emperor, the God of the South, the God of the North, crickets, various vegetables... the Olympians brought laughter to the audience with their "hilarious performances." Fairy tales, familiar fables, novels such as "The Tortoise and the Hare," "The Shepherd Boy," "The Fox and the Crow," "The Legend of the Four Gods," the novel "Adventures of a Cricket"... suddenly became fresh, witty, and vivid under the adaptation and acting skills of elementary Olympia students.

However, "Little Artists on the Big Stage" is not merely a drama learning project. This is a learning activity in Vietnamese - a "specialty" of Olympia Elementary School. Participating in the project, the children have honed various skills such as reading comprehension, literary appreciation, poetic composition... and enriched their humanistic values through understanding the messages and meanings of the works.

Five months of diligent script learning and rehearsals together have been a period of strong bonding among the members. Thanks to this, the children have also developed teamwork skills, creativity, flexibility on stage, and courage and confidence.

Accompanying elementary Olympia students for many years in the project, National Artist Hoang Lam Tung - Head of the Classical Drama Delegation, Vietnam National Drama Theater, said: "Little Artists on the Big Stage has brought very valuable lessons to the children, not only about drama and diverse languages but also as a luggage for them to be more confident, knowledgeable about life around them, about simple, folk things full of interest and usefulness."

The resounding applause throughout the Olympia Theater space from all parents is a clear testimonial for success of the performances, a loud praise, and encouragement for elementary Olympia students.

"I feel very happy and proud of myself standing on the big stage performing in front of many parents today. Although I was nervous, I didn't forget my lines. Participating in 'Little Artists on the Big Stage,' I got to read the story 'Adventures of a Cricket,' which was very interesting, and I also got to compose poems about my favorite characters in the work. Through the story of the Cricket, I learned that I shouldn't be aggressive but should do many good deeds and become a straightforward person," shared Bảo Sam from class 3A2.
