[Glocal Connect] Olympians grade 12 explore law and policy communication with expert

06 April, 2024

During last week's Glocal Connect series, 12th-grade Olympians engaged in a discussion with Master of Public Policy - Princeton University (USA) - Mr. Le Quang Binh. With extensive experiences in community development, research, communication, and policy advocacy, Mr. Binh, the director of the social enterprise ECUE and the coordinator of the program "For a Livable Hanoi," brought fresh and practical perspectives on the theme "Law and Policy Communication."

Mr. Le Quang Binh at the exchange session

During the exchange session, representatives from the 12th grade also presented research findings from their Economics & Law class on ongoing social issues in the capital city, such as "Waste collection and management" and "Traffic congestion in Hanoi." Recognizing the positive attributes of Olympians including confidence, coherent thinking, and creative solutions, the expert also provided feedback and additional information to deepen their understanding when proposing policy-related solutions and in guiding social behavior.

Many questions were posed by Olympians to the speaker regarding: strategies for garnering broad community support, challenges in initiating policy advocacy, and solutions to overcome difficulties. The specific and insightful responses from Master Le Quang Binh helped inspire students to further delve into the field of "Law and Policy Communication."

It is hoped that Olympians K12 will effectively apply the knowledge acquired from this special session with the expert and, in turn, disseminate it to the community to contribute to building a better society.
