Olympia teachers dedicated to learning
28 July, 2024
As the new school year approaches, Olympia teachers have been actively engaged in professional development activities to prepare for an exciting and meaningful year, that will help “every student blossom” and shine in their own way. These annual training sessions focus on pedagogical skills, school policies, and educational principles and ethos, but each year brings new lessons and updates on the latest trends, keeping teachers engaged and enthusiastic.
This year's whole-school training week, in addition to covering information on Olympia's regulations, common culture, academic planning for the entire school and each department, also introduced teachers to deep learning and artificial intelligence (AI) applications in teaching. These two fields are rapidly becoming trends in modern progressive education.
“The training week provided extremely useful and up-to-date information. In addition to the core values and common spirit that need to be permeated throughout every activity of the new school year, teachers and staff were also trained on applying technology. Thanks to these sharing sessions, I feel less anxious about administrative tasks or designing lessons in the future because I now have modern support tools as my assistants...” – shared Ms. Bui Thi Phuong Thao, a high school biology teacher.
Many new teachers also expressed their surprise and delight at Olympia's well-structured and in-depth staff training program. In addition to the whole-school training week, new teachers were also trained separately to fully grasp Olympia's educational philosophy and practices, in order to become "Effective Teachers".
"Learning is the seed of knowledge, knowledge is the seed of happiness" - Georgian proverb. With the spirit of lifelong learning, Olympia teachers are working together to create a happy garden - where every Olympian can blossom in their own way.
Stay tuned for an exciting and rewarding new school year with Olympia teachers!
