Dang Tran Anh Minh has successfully conquered 7 US University

20 February, 2024

"Anh Minh is often quiet and reserved. However, he is a very intelligent student with sharp logical thinking, self-learning ability, independent research skills, and a strong command of English. He works carefully, meticulously, enjoys reading materials, and always tries to answer everything based on his own knowledge before seeking help from teachers... Anh Minh always cares and empathizes with everyone, and he is trusted and loved by friends and teachers."

This is part of the introduction from Ms. Pham Thuy Giang - Physics teacher - for Olympian Dang Tran Anh Minh, who has just received admission offers with valuable scholarships from 7 US universities: Drexel University, A.J Drexel Scholarship, $124,800; College of Wooster, Wooster International Scholarship, $180,000 Earlham College, Faculty Scholarship and International student Scholarship, $172,572; Beloit College, President Scholarship, $160,000; Wheaton College, Wheaton Presidential Scholarship, $160,000; Goucher College, Goucher Citizen Award, $116,000; University of Maryland - Baltimore County, Undergraduate Scholarship, $48,000.

"The main theme of my essay is awakening and change within myself. That process is directly related to Olympia - the school that has helped me mature and think about the future instead of being a lazy person just playing games at home," shared Olympian Anh Minh.

He mentioned that during grades 6-8, he didn't participate in any activities, nor did he focus on studying in class, resulting in very low grades and often being "specially mentioned" during activity periods.

Transferring to Olympia in grade 9 and being exposed to teachers who are always willing to listen, respect, and empathize with students, Anh Minh "woke up" and began to change. He actively participated in learning, was meticulous and responsible in his assigned tasks, and participated in various academic projects and events such as OLMUN in grade 10, scientific research activities in grade 11, and the project "Choices and Exchanges" in grade 12.

Considering a major in Political Science for university, this Olympian hopes to contribute to building a better and more peaceful world in the future.
