Grade 12 study of history at Ho Chi Minh trail Museum

20 February, 2024

In the 12th-grade history curriculum, students explore the Vietnamese people's resistance war against the United States to save the country. This study involves numerous legendary figures, stories, victories, and miraculous events. One such legend is the Ho Chi Minh Trail.

Aiming to provide students with a multi-dimensional learning experience through seeing, hearing, observing artifacts, and learning from historical witnesses, the History and Geography Department designed an internal project called "BLOOD ROAD - FLOWER ROAD." The project includes two main experiential activities: a study trip to the Ho Chi Minh Trail Museum and a Glocal Talk with historical witnesses about the oil pipeline - one of the five "Ho Chi Minh Trails".

On January 26, 2024, teachers and students from Olympia High School carried out their first study activity at the Ho Chi Minh Trail Museum. With over 15,000 original artifacts, the museum is like a miniature Truong Son (the Ho Chi Minh Trail) in the heart of Hanoi. Based on the history of its construction, the exhibited artifacts, and historical stories about the life and resilient struggle of Truong Son soldiers, the visit somewhat helped students understand and appreciate the value of peace.

This meaningful experience also encourages students to reflect on traditional values of the nation, their roots, and affirm their worth in the era of globalization, providing valuable assets for their future journey.
